Lansing, N.Y. — A woman going 60 mph in a 35 mph speed zone was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Saturday, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.
At 12:35 a.m., deputies saw a red Chrysler on Ridge Road in Lansing make a right turn without signaling, according to a statement released Monday by the sheriff’s office.
The vehicle then sped along Lansing Station Road and crossed the centerline “several times” before being pulled over by deputies, according to law enforcement.
Elizabeth R. Barger, 22, of Van Etten, was the driver. Police said they discovered that she was intoxicated.
Barger now faces two counts of driving while intoxicated and one count of aggravated driving while intoxicated, as well as failure to signal, speeding, and failure to keep right.
Barger was released and is to appear in the Town of Lansing Court on February 24, 2015.
