Ithaca, N.Y. — Nationally known political commentator and MSNBC show host Melissa Harris-Perry will deliver the 2015 Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Lecture at Cornell University on Monday, Feb. 23.

Harris-Perry, host of a left-leaning MSNBC opinion show, will give the speech at Sage Chapel at 4:45 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Harris-Perry’s talk will be entitled “We Can’t Breathe: The Continuing Consequences of Inequality.”

A regular commenter for “The Nation” magazine, Harris-Perry also teaches politics and international affairs at Wake Forest University and is the founding director of that college’s Anna Julia Cooper Project on Gender, Race, and Politics in the South.
