Ithaca, N.Y. — A pedestrian was found dead after police were called to a crash near Ithaca in the early morning hours Saturday, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 3:57 a.m., deputies were called to Route 96 “just outside” of Ithaca for a car vs. pedestrian accident.

Authorities found the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The names of the driver and victim have not been given out because an investigation is ongoing, the sheriff’s office said in the statement.

“Anyone with any information regarding this accident, please contact the Tompkins County Sheriffs Department,” the statement said.
