Ithaca firefighters and Ithaca police were on scene, and Bangs Ambulance responded as well. One firefighter on scene said that the accident was minor. Traffic was being redirected on Aurora Street near its intersection with Prospect Street.

A burst of snow has made the roads “treacherous” Friday morning, according to an emergency dispatch report quoted by WHCU Radio.

Not much snow was expected for the area.

Here’s the forecast for Ithaca today, courtesy of the National Weather Service:

“Snow showers, mainly before 2pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Temperature falling to around 17 by 5pm. Northwest wind 15 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible.”

It looks like it’s falling a little heavier than that, but it’s probably too soon to say.
