Jordan was unsure of the severity of the woman’s injuries. She was being taken to the Robert Packer Center in Pennsylvania.

The woman had to be extricated from her vehicle by Brooktondale and Ithaca firefighters after the crash, according to Jordan.

It’s too early to say what caused the crash. A landing pad was set up near the scene of the accident — at the intersection of Route 79 and North Landon Road, about 15 minutes southeast of Ithaca.

The New York State Police are investigating the crash, according to Jordan.

The road was reopened and the vehicles were being towed as of about 8 p.m.
