Serious prize money was at stake: $9,000, according to the Downtown Ithaca Alliance.

The three-day competition draws 10 nationally “acclaimed” ice carvers, the DIA says.

The event is sanctioned by the “National Ice Carving Association,” which is like the NFL of ice carving.
