A helicopter was called for a medical transport but later canceled, dispatchers said.

At the scene, two vehicles involved in the crash remained near the intersection of Route 13/Elmira Road and Route 327 at around 1:40 p.m.

Traffic has slowed to a standstill in the area. Hundreds of cars inched along the road in both directions at least several hundred feet from the scene of the crash.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office has deputies on scene. State police and Ithaca firefighters are also at the crash, directing traffic, and Bang Ambulance had personnel here as well.

We’ll let you know when we learn more about the accident.
