The watch was stolen at Court Hall on Cornell’s campus. The theft was publicized with Cornell police’s crime log last week.

Honan confirmed the report Monday and said that Cornell police are continuing to investigate the theft, which is classified as a grand larceny.

Police say the theft occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Nov. 2 and 3 p.m. Nov. 6. The student reported the theft Nov. 6.

The crime log says the stolen item was a Cartier watch. Cartier’s website describes the brand “as one of the world’s most esteemed and respectful … in the luxury goods industry.”

Among the Cartier watches costing in the $5,000 range are the Cartier Ballon Blue Stainless Steel Watch, the Roadster S. Men’s Watch and the Cartier Pasha de Cartier Watch.
