“K-HOUSE Karaoke Lounge & Suites” combines two atmospheres to give customers a variety of ways to put on their own amateur performances. For the boldest performers, K-House offers a large stage in front of a bar/lounge. On the other hand, the venue also offers the option of renting one of eleven “karaoke box” suites – small rooms designed for those who prefer intimate performances to the pressure of a larger stage.

“We take the best of both worlds and then add some flavor,” said Alina Kim, founder of K-House and graduate of Cornell’s Hotel School.

The Karaoke Boxes, which can each be rented by the hour, will be equipped with state-of-the-art Karaoke technology. Customers will be able to choose from a selection of over 140,000 songs in 15 different languages.

Each room will also have a theme – ranging from “emoji” to “Cornell” to “Ithaca” – and will be decorated with local artwork.

“I’m a big fan of the art scene in Ithaca, and an artist myself, so I wanted to get local artists involved in the design of K-HOUSE,” Kim said.

Beverage and food options at K-House will be Asian-American fusion. Finger food options will include “kimchi nachos” and “bulgogi tacos” and, when full bar service becomes available, customers will be able to choose from Asian spirits and beers in addition to standard American drinks.

“I wanted to bring my favorite pastime to Ithaca,” said Kim. “I love singing and karaoke, so I’m excited to share my passion with everyone in my new hometown, including the students, faculty, and staff of the local colleges. What better way to settle down here than to open a business that I’m passionate about?”

Regular hours at K-HOUSE will be 4:00pm to 2:00am Sunday to Thursday, and 4:00pm to 3:00am Friday to Saturday. The restaurant is located at 15 Catherwood Road.
