Cortland, N.Y. — Three people were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after an explosion at a construction site on SUNY Cortland’s campus.

Those hospitalized were contractors working on the construction site of the school’s Student Life Center. All three were taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, according to a statement posted by the school.

Construction was halted after the 7 a.m. explosion. The campus is otherwise operating on its normal schedule.

No word yet on the conditions of the contractors. Authorities are investigating.The Associated Press reports that the explosion occurred inside a generator room.
