Ithaca, N.Y. — A national publication has produced an approximately 6-minute documentary revolving around Ithaca grandmother Mary Anne Grady Flores, who in July was sentenced to a year in jail for her role in an anti-drones demonstration.
The video, created by Mashable, captures an exchange between Grady Flores and an officer at the military base.
Officer: “Go change your god damn government.”
Grady Flores: “We’re not here to protest you personally.”
Officer: “You are protesting me personally. Go change your government.”
Grady Flores has been released on bail pending her appeal. Mashable interviewed her for the story.
“They want to scare people; they want to quell dissent,” Grady Flores said.
“But the opposite effect has happened as a result of the judge sentencing me to one year in jail.”
