Ithaca, N.Y. — A robber grabbed a woman’s purse, knocked her to the ground and punched her in the head before fleeing on South Geneva Street early Wednesday morning, according to the Ithaca Police Department.

At around 12:25 a.m., police were called to the 200 block of South Geneva Street for a reported strong armed robbery.
