Ithaca, N.Y. — The Ithaca Police Department has released a security photo of a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred near the Commons Wednesday afternoon.

Police officers were called to the Elmira Savings Bank at 301 East State Street around 3:11 p.m. for a reported bank robbery.

Authorities say an unidentified man entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding cash “or else people would be hurt,” according to an Ithaca police press release. The teller turned over the money and the suspect left on foot with the cash.

No arrests have been made. Police urge anyone with knowledge of the bank robbery to call them at 607-272-3245.
