Ithaca, N.Y. — Ithaca’s “The Bookery” has been named one of “44 Great American Bookstores Every Book Lover Must Visit.”

Located in Ithaca’s historic Dewitt Building, the bookstore is listed as #32 on the Buzzfeed list published last week.

“Fighting the good fight for the American bibliophile,” the story says. “Have you shown your local indie love this week?”

The Buzzfeed caption says the following of The Bookery:

“This college town favorite is full of first editions, old library books, rare finds, vintage prints, AND affordable used books. Add comfortable seating to the mix and you’ve got a spot to spend hours in Ithaca. Gorgeous.”

Open since 1975, The Bookery has a “rich selection of first editions, rare finds, affordable used books, and comfortable atmosphere,” according to a press release.

Also included on the Buzzfeed list were Powell’s in Portland, Oregon; Dog Eared Books in San Francisco, California; and Myopic Books in Chicago, Illinois.
