Ithaca, N.Y. — It was a little chilly this weekend, but the short-term forecast for Ithaca is looking pretty great.

After hitting a low of 33 degrees on Saturday, temperatures are rebounding to an unseasonably warm 77 degrees on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The rest of the week looks to be enjoyable, too. We’ll hit around 77 degrees again on Wednesday, and then 58 degrees on Thursday and 66 degrees on Friday.

A statement from the NWS detailing the blast of warm air calls it “quite the change.”

“A slow moving low over the Mississippi River Valley will push increasing warm air into the region through mid-week,” the weather service said.

“With the warm air will come clouds and a chance of a shower or two … but most of the time will be rain free.”

So that’s the good news. The bad is that it looks like we may still be in for a very rough winter ahead, though nobody really knows for sure. A cold front could move in next week.
