Ithaca, NY – Cornell psychology professor Tom Gilovich will give this semester’s Distinguished Faculty Invitational Lecture, according to the Cornell chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

“Ithaca, NY – The Cornell chapter of Phi Beta Kappa is excited to announce this semester’s Distinguished Faculty Invitational Lecture with Professor Tom Gilovich of Psychology. The title of his lecture is “The Wisest One in the Room: How Five Core Principles of Social Psychology Can Make Anyone Wiser and More Effective in their Daily Lives.” This talk will discuss the general principles of human psychology that the wisest among us know intuitively—but that even the smartest among us often fail to appreciate. Thomas Gilovich is the Irene Blecker Rosenfeld Professor of Psychology and co-director of the Cornell Center for Behavioral Economics and Decision Research.

The lecture will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 4:30 P.M. in Lewis Auditorium of Goldwin Smith Hall on Cornell’s campus. Admission is free and all are welcomed to attend.
