Dryden, N.Y. — Dryden police are still searching for the runaway teenager who first went missing last Monday.
Tyler Adams, 16, has eluded authorities currently engaged in an active effort to find him.
“There’ve been officers every day, every shift working on it,” Dryden Chief of Police Margaret E. Ryan said in an interview on Monday.
Ryan said police still believe Adams is in Tompkins County — “we don’t have any information to the contrary right now,” she said.
There have been “numerous” tips coming in regarding Adams’ whereabouts, according to Chief Ryan.
“We’ve been following leads all week,” Ryan said.
Ryan asked members of the public who think they may have seen Adams to contact police immediately.
There’s reason to be concerned for the boy’s safety, she said.
“Of course, we’re concerned about his welfare,” Ryan said. “He hasn’t contacted home in a week.”
Adams was last seen wearing a black North Face jacket, jeans and a sweatshirt, an official with the Dryden Police Department said.
Adams is 5-foot-9 and about 160 pounds.
