Ithaca, N.Y. — Ithaca police responded to a reported robbery on the 800 block of East Buffalo Street early Thursday morning.

At around 12:29 a.m., a female victim said an unknown man ran up to her, took her purse and fled. She had been walking up East Buffalo Street when she noticed that the man was following her.

The woman chased the suspect for several  blocks “but lost sight of him as he ran down the hill towards downtown,” according to police.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5 ‘10” tall, muscular build, and wearing all dark clothing along with a baseball hat.

“If you have any information that would aid this investigation please contact the Ithaca Police Department,” a statement said.
