Ithaca, N.Y. — Ithaca police have arrested a man suspected in a killing in Rochester, according to Officer Jamie Williamson.
Vincent L. Bean, 19, faces charges in connection with the slaying of Travone Teasley.
Teasley was killed on June 20 in Rochester.
Around 5:19 p.m. on Tuesday, an Ithaca police investigator found Bean on the 600 block of West State Street. He was arrested without incident.
Bean is accused of repeatedly stabbing a 17-year-old to death on the west side of Rochester, according to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. A fight preceded the stabbing, which occurred on a sidewalk, the newspaper reported.
Custody of Bean has been transferred to the Rochester Police Department. Bean faces no charges in Ithaca.
A story in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle recounted a witness account of the homicide:
Rickie Sanders, 59, who lives at the intersection, described seeing a young man taunting the teenager as he lay dying before a woman came out of a house and wrapped her shirt around a wound in the teenager’s neck.
“He was telling him, ‘Get up! Get up! What you going to do? I’m not going to help you,’” Sanders recalled. “Then the lady came out and tied a shirt around his neck. She said he was bleeding from his neck and his ribcage, too.”
