Ithaca, N.Y. — About a half dozen Ithaca and state police officers are searching the side of Route 13A/5 Mile Drive Wednesday evening.
The Ithaca Journal has reported that the police are looking for a suspect. The Journal’s report is based off of emergency radio reports.
The Journal’s story also said that an unmarked police car was struck and that a suspect is in police custody. This information was also attributed to emergency radio reports.
Six police vehicles were seen parked where Route 13A meets Route 13. Traffic was at a crawl there at around 6:30 p.m. but moving.
Bangs Ambulance and Tompkins County sheriff’s deputies were also on the scene.
The deputies and officers searched an area spanning at least 400 feet, lifting branches and debris along the roadway as they searched for clues.
