Ithaca, N.Y. — Thousands of students are descending on Ithaca’s East Hill Friday and throughout the week.
Today is officially move-in day, according to Cornell.
The day, and the move-in period more generally, can be thought to have 5 distinct effects.
1 — Excitement.
Just moved in to cornell oh my god it’s happening

2 — Nostalgia.
For the first time in my memory, Louie’s Lunch is closed on Move-In Day, thus ruining my annual peanut butter milkshake tradition. — Corey Ryan Earle (@CREarle) August 22, 2014
3 — Traffic.
One of the requirements for attending IC or Cornell should be the ability to drive well in Ithaca.

4 — Concern among townies.
