Ithaca, N.Y. — Last week, The Ithaca Voice took you back in time to the 19th Century for a photo gallery of 9 photos of the gorges taken in the 1800s.

That story was a hit, so we’re coming back this week with another look at Things As They Were.

Got a better caption than ours? We bet you do. Leave it in the comments section below.

Unfortunately, most of these photos are undated and not marked in the History Center in Tompkins County with a location.

Anyway, without further ado, here are 14 photos for Throwback Thursday of Ithacans enjoying the lakes … much as we still do today …

1 — Dated August 1921.

2 — Cowabunga!!!!

3 — Winter on the lake

4 — Riding in style

5 — Getting ripped.

6 — Stroke, stroke, stroke, stroke….

7 — What’s in those cups, boys?

8 — A nice family gathering

9 — Cheese!

10 — Admiring the view…

11 — Last one in has to wear a silly hat! (Oh, wait…)
