Ithaca, N.Y. – NYSEG released a statement on Thursday saying that it expects to restore all Ithaca area service by midnight.

The Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response said that as of 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, 237 NYSEG customers were still without power after a storm on Tuesday caused 17,600 outages in Tompkins County, as well as parts of Cortland, Cayuga, Seneca, Schuyler, Chemung and Tioga counties.

Dry ice and bottled water is being distributed by NYSEG at its Ithaca Service Center at 1387 Dryden Road until this evening. Leftovers will be donated to fire departments that helped during the storm.

Any customers with unreported power outages are urged to call NYSEG at 1-800-572-1131.
