Ithaca, N.Y. — The State Theatre announced its 2014-15 season line-up today, and it’s a doozy.
Major acts revealed Monday include Ira Glass, Angelique Kidjo, a Beatles tribute band and a monkey named Curious George.

Spoon | August 28
The fall season of the State Theatre of Ithaca will launch with a performance by the indie rock band Spoon, according to Dan Smalls Presents.
Lake Street Dive | September 14
GrassRoots 2014 favorites Lake Street Dive, a jazz quartet, will come to Ithaca to perform at the State Theatre on Sept. 14.
Menopause The Musical | September 25 and September 26
“This hilarious musical parody staged to classic tunes from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s will have you cheering and dancing in the aisles.”
Kathleen Madigan | September 27
Winner of the American Comedy Award for “Best Female Comedian,” Madigan has been on tour as a stand-up artist for 25 years. She has had multiple TV appearances, too, and wrote and produced Lewis Black’s television special.
The Berenstain Bears LIVE! | October 12
“On Sunday, October 12th The Berenstain Bears LIVE! will bring everyone’s favorite bear family to life in a thrilling theatrical experience that kids as well as their parents will treasure for many years to come.”
The Mavericks | November 2
Roots country band The Mavericks will perform Nov. 2.
“The country-steeped garage band with a Cuban American lead singer … emerged from Miami in 1989,” the band’s website states.
Angelique Kidjo | November 7
“Born in Benin, Africa, her first performing experience was as a six year old actor-dancer in her mother’s theatre troupe. Today, she sings in four languages and has worked with many of the world’s finest musicians, including Joss Stone, Peter Gabriel and Ziggy Marley. Angelique Kidjo is a bonafide global phenomenon whose performances are always legendary events.”
ImaginOcean | November 16

1964: The Tribute | December 6

Ira Glass is the well-known producer producer of the NPR radio show, “This American Life.” No date has been set for his show, but it will be in March, according to the State Theatre.
Popovich Comedy Pet Theater | April 12
