After captaining the LA Kings to their second Stanley Cup in three years, Ithaca native Dustin Brown has taken some time with his teammates to celebrate their victory.

That might be a bit of an understatement. Let us explain:

Four days after defeating the NY Rangers for good, Brown led a rally through downtown LA on Monday, June 17 that culminated in a raucous celebration in the Kings’ arena.

ESPN reported: “The Kings’ players and staffers were individually introduced at the rally. The fans saved their wildest cheers for Martinez, Sutter, captain Dustin Brown — who brought the Stanley Cup into the rink — and forward Marian Gaborik, the late-season acquisition who scored 14 goals in the playoffs.”

Then, on Wednesday, Brown and the Kings kicked off the festivities with another celebratory parade at South Bay.

“It is so great to celebrate in our neck of the woods. This is just awesome,” Brown said, according to the Los Angeles Register.

Defenseman Drew Doughty was in on the action. “Party at my house,” he said, according to The Register, which reported that goaltender Jonathan Quick then tossed beer cans to the crowd.

The Kings took the Cup to the famous MGM Grand:

Later in the week, Brown was announced to be testing a new Apple iWatch along with the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant, according to Yahoo! News:

“Apple is said to be working with Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Kings right winger Dustin Brown, and a few other star athletes, including a player from the Boston Red Sox, on the testing project. The athletes are said to have signed non-disclosure agreements regarding the existence of the upcoming Apple wearable device.

Tonight, the NHL Awards will be held in Las Vegas. Looks like Brown’s already taken his seat.

Oh, and he got a call from President Barack Obama.

Then Brown got a shout-out from a real celebrity. A Tweet of Justin Bieber showed the pop star donning Brown’s jersey, number 23.

Now, the question turns to when Brown will be coming back to the 14850 zip code.

The Ithaca Journal’s Thomas Fleischman Tweeted:

No word yet if Bieber and/or Obama will join Brown in Ithaca. We’ll keep you posted.
