Ithaca, N.Y. — As summer arrives, various schools are thinking ahead, releasing their hockey schedules for when winter returns.
While Cornell hasn’t released its new schedule yet, we can look at some other schools and events and piece together parts of what’s in store for Big Red fans this winter.
The centerpiece of the games that are already announced is Cornell’s visit to Madison Square Garden on November 29, when they take on fledgling hockey program Penn State for the Big Red’s regular visit to the “World’s Most Famous Arena.”
Cornell has regularly taken part in games at MSG, most recently in Red Hot Hockey this past November against Boston University.Cornell will make its first visit to National Champion Union on January 16, and Union will pay a visit to Ithaca on February 21.
The visit to Albany will also have a trip to play ECAC rival RPI on January 17, while the Engineers will visit the same weekend of Union’s arrival on February 20.
Cornell will also host Nebraska-Omaha for a pair of games at Lynah Rink on Halloween weekend.The Big Red will also play a home-and-home the last weekend of January with Colgate.
Cornell will also make its annual trip to the Florida College Hockey Classic in Estero, Florida on December 28 and 29, playing Lake Superior State and Miami or Notre Dame in the championship or consolation round.
