A 20-year-old woman whose passenger died in a drunk driving accident this January was sentenced to prison on Tuesday, WHEC Rochester reported.
Alexa Irvin was given a three-to-five year sentence, according to WHEC Rochester.
The station said:
“A 20-year-old Canandaigua woman will spend the next three to five years in prison for her role in a deadly crash.
Alexa Irvin was sentenced in Ontario County Court Tuesday afternoon. She pleaded guilty last month to criminally negligent homicide, aggravated unlicensed operation and aggravated DWI.
In January, Irvin was driving on New Michigan Road when she lost control of her vehicle and went off the road. Her passenger, 22-year-old Nicholas Furfaro, was killed in the crash.
