Ithaca, N.Y. — A female bicyclist injured while riding on Cornell’s campus Friday morning is still in the hospital, Cornell’s Deputy Police Chief David Honan said Monday.

She has not been publicly identified. The woman was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse because of the severity of her injuries.

A call came in around 11:30 a.m. Friday reporting an unresponsive woman on the ground after falling off her bike, according to a press release from the Ithaca Fire Department.

The incident occurred on Cradit Farm Road, near Helen Newman Hall on the campus.

Cornell police are still investigating the incident. They have not said how the accident occurred.
